Driscoll has been a steady hand all season. In Palma's Oct. 23 win over Salinas, he completed 10 of 13 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for a score, according to Devine's post-game stats on X.

Carmel entered the game at 5-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, according to PCAL standings published Oct. 24 in the Monterey Herald. The 37-point loss was the Padres' most lopsided defeat of the season.

The Chieftains have outscored opponents 285-101 through nine games, per MaxPreps. Five of their seven wins have come by more than 20 points.
